MARIETTA, OH - couple of local veterans are encouraging their peers to sign up for an Honor Flight to see the World War II Memorial and other sites in the nation's capital.
Planning is under way now for at least half a dozen flights in 2012 by Honor Flight Columbus, a nonprofit organization dedicated to transporting senior veterans to see their memorials. Priority is given to World War II veterans but the organization is also accepting applications from Korean War veterans this year, said Bobbi Richards, a member of Honor Flight Columbus' board of directors.
